Canine Massage Massage can do far more than relieve sore muscles for your best friend, it’s not just a luxury for your companion. Massage can help puppies, geriatric and performance dogs stay flexible and comfortable in their jobs. Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) for Animals An ancient Japanese art practiced world-wide to promote harmony of the body, mind and spirit (part of our Canine Fitness motto). The idea is that when a body is in harmony it will release pain or tension and result in faster healing, both emotionally and physically. JSJ does not directly involve massage but does compliment it very nicely. It is a gentle method of placing hands on certain areas of the animal’'s body to harmonize and restore energy flows. If you would like to learn more about this ancient healing technique and how it might help your pet, please see the website www.JSJforYourAnimal.com or feel free to contact Adele and ask if it might be of benefit for your pet! Exercise and Conditioning Proper exercise is important to keep your dog fit. We have workshops and classes available to show you specific exercises that can help your companion. Exercises you can do in your home on those days you can’t get out for a walk. Learn how to tire your dog out with mental and physical exercise using FITPaws equipment to build flexibility and core strength. <a |
Canine Star Puppy Class
One of the most important things you can do to help your puppy grow up to be confident and friendly is to socialize him/her at an early age. Puppy classes start at 10-12 weeks of age to introduce them to different environments and play time with puppies their own age. Positive reinforcement and fun are priorities in this class. Go to AKC.org for more information about the S.T.A.R Puppy program. Family Dog Training Class This class is for older puppies and adults. It is designed to help your dog deal with everyday life in a positive, polite manner. We work on walking on a loose lead, greeting people and other dogs calmly and learning self-control as well as basic obedience exercises. Rally Rally Obedience is a fun new sport for you and your dog! Teams learn how to maneuver at each station where a sign is posted and you need to perform that exercise. These classes sharpen your dog’s attention on you and can help build your relationship with your companion. Basic obedience skills are required for these classes. Behavioral Consulting Sometimes you and your dog may need help with specific issues at home, during walks in the neighborhood or you might be introducing a new pet or baby into your household. Adele is available for private in-home consultations for any canine behavioral issues. Agility Our agility classes are designed for fun and recreation and to build confidence with you and your dog. Instructors are Adele Delp. Beginning Agility is a 4 week class to introduce your dog to the equipment, learn focus and attention skills and build confidence. Safety and fun are priorities for this class. Dogs should have basic obedience skills and be at least 6 months old. Recreational Agility Class Dogs and owners "just gotta have fun"! Agility is a sport where an owner/handler directs a dog through an obstacle course. Since not everyone wants to participate in this sport at a competitive level or maybe just wants to see if their dog enjoys it we've created a fun low-key class for everyone to try it out. Agility will also benefit your dog by helping to keep them physically and mentally fit. |
